Terms of Service
Last updated: 31 August 2026
These terms govern your use of the Kikooko Africa Safaris website and any safari, trip, or travel service you book with us. By making an enquiry or booking, you agree to these terms.
About Kikooko Africa Safaris
Kikooko Africa Safaris is a tour operator based in Entebbe, Uganda, arranging safaris and travel experiences across Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Madagascar, and Zanzibar.
Enquiries and Quotes
Submitting an enquiry through our website does not constitute a booking. Quotes are subject to availability and may change until a deposit is paid and a booking is confirmed in writing.
Booking and Payment
A booking is confirmed once we have received a signed booking confirmation and the required deposit. Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
- A deposit of 30% of the total trip cost is due at the time of booking
- The remaining balance is due no later than 60 days before the trip start date
- Bookings made within 60 days of travel require full payment at the time of booking
- Gorilla and chimpanzee trekking permits, where applicable, are non-refundable once purchased
Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellations must be made in writing. Because we commit to lodges, park authorities, and permits on your behalf well in advance, cancellation fees apply on a sliding scale based on how close to departure you cancel. Specific cancellation terms will be provided in your booking confirmation. Permit costs, once paid to park authorities, are non-refundable regardless of when you cancel.
Changes to Your Itinerary
We will always try to accommodate reasonable requests to amend a confirmed itinerary, subject to availability. Changes may incur additional costs, particularly for permits, flights, or accommodation that have already been booked and paid for on your behalf.
Travel Documents and Requirements
You are responsible for ensuring you hold a valid passport, visa, and any required vaccinations or health documentation for your trip. We are happy to advise, but the final responsibility for meeting entry requirements rests with you. We are not liable for any loss arising from your failure to hold the correct travel documents.
Health, Safety, and Assumption of Risk
Safari travel involves activities that carry inherent risks, including but not limited to wildlife encounters, trekking on uneven terrain, and travel in remote areas with limited medical facilities. By booking with us, you acknowledge these risks and agree to follow the safety guidance of our guides and local authorities at all times.
Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance, including cover for medical evacuation, trip cancellation, and personal belongings, is mandatory for all travellers booking with us. Proof of insurance may be requested before departure.
Our Liability
Kikooko Africa Safaris will exercise reasonable care in selecting and arranging accommodation, transport, guides, and activities. However, we act as an agent for third-party suppliers (lodges, airlines, park authorities, and local operators) and are not liable for their acts, omissions, or failures, except where required by applicable law. We are not liable for losses caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Force Majeure
We are not liable for any failure to perform our obligations where that failure results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, extreme weather, civil unrest, government action, pandemic-related restrictions, or park closures.
Website Content and Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including text, photographs, and itineraries, is the property of Kikooko Africa Safaris or its licensors and may not be reproduced without written permission.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any disputes arising from a booking with us will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Uganda, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
